New toyI promised Colibub and Mutter a pic so here goes.
I was surfing one of the airsoft sites and I saw this thing for sale, it was a silenced, RIS front end for an Armalite. I guess I must be weak, but I'm a bloke and it was shiny thing I didn't have so I wanted it - made sense to me.
Problem was I didn't have a gun I wanted to change the front end on so I was going to need a new one - can't see a flaw yet.
I didn't want to put a PEQ box on it and I'd already got a crane stock so a solid stock with a big battery sounded a good plan. I found a CA M15A4 tactical carbine and a deal was struck. The inner barrel was too long and came out the front of the silencer but I've shortened that. It comes right to the front of the silencer so that's just cosmetic. I wasn't sure what to use the RIS for but decided to put a grip on it . I wanted something a bit different and settled on the pistol grip style.
So I'm looking at it and it sort of reminds me of the look of the old tommy gun with the matching forward pistol grip and I start thinking "I need a drum mag" Then I saw Colibubs C-Mag for sale.
Not to everyones taste I know but it was fun finding the bits and bolting them together.
It's not a good pictue but it's the best I could do with a cheapie camera and poor lighting but it gives you an idea. When I get some decent weather I think I'll try again outside.

Thanks, I had fun finding the parts and putting it together. Not a big thing I know but the first time I've had to take off to swap an outer barrel and being CA (and me being mean) I had to make a tool up to remove it without gnarling it all up so I can re use it. Plus I cut down the original inner barrel myself which seems to have gone OK.
The silencer is marked as 45ACP so I guess it that may be why it looks similar.
I've a couple of Armalites and I've wondered about a pistol calibre conversion but that sort of blows my idea of the interchangability of parts, in paticular not needing to buy lots of new mags.

Nice job m8 a like that type of silencer look as if its the full length of the front of the gun a quite fancy a go at a project like that maself but something more sniper like

colibub and tone did a bit of custom work on my m4
its now an m4cqb.
now all i need is a c-mag!!!!!!!!!!

Like the sniper Colibub! Dread to even think about the price though. The QD silencer looks like it would make it really long but I guess it'd be no longer than just sticking any silencer on the end once it's fitted. Like the mag too, sort of PSG-1.
I've got an M15 done out sniper(ish) not nearly as flash as that and I've used the smaller VN mags for that. Guess it's more counter sniper or dedicated marksman than out and out sniper. I keep meaning to take a pic of my little Armalite family, be interesting to see the size difference.
Nice cqb too though I think I'd go for something like the Hero Arms self winding dual mag thing. More in keeping with it's shorty look and probably more practical for tight spaces.
Not really got a name for it tone, I just think of her as an M15A4 RIS/SD sort of like like the way HKs are named.

The family pictureWell I had a bit of space and some time so despite really not wanting to get all this kit out because once it's out you just have to give each a bit of a go, that's right isn't it  ? Anyhow with it all laid out on the floor I thought I'd take a pic

Anyway my actual question was what bipod is that on your DMR at the top?
is it the TM Pro?

Thanks - yes I'm partial to the odd one or two. It started with the TM M4A1 and when I decided to get a new rifle I wanted to use the same mags rather than have to start over again so I went for another Armalite.
I guess doing that 2 or 3 times saved enough out of the budget to buy the 4th one. That's my story and if the wife asks I'm sticking to it.
Yes all but the TM are CA even the 203, I like the coldness and weight of the metal bodied version over plastic even though I know plastic can be very strong and weight isn't an advantage if you have a heavy gun to lug around. Again that was to try and keep as many common internal parts as possible just in case parts ever became a problem. The shells are all Madbull so I could use an AI adaptor and Propane from B&Q if "proper" gas became scarce.
I'm sorry the bipod is a mystery to me. I love surfing the forums for bits. It was a second hand one I got cheap as it was missing a locking screw on one leg both of which I replaced about a day after I got it for beans.
