I've been looking at the Madbull tight-bore barrel for my 36C as a relatively inexpensive (£23) upgrade to improve accuracy. But I'm wondering if they really make much of a difference or not.
A couple of things I've seen mentioned are:
- Better accuracy through tighter grouping of the bb's
- Gun jams more frequently
- Only use quality bb's like Excels (which we seem to anyway)
I've not seen any mention of easy it is to change the barrel. It looks easy enough but I wouldn't want to batter in just in case there's something really important I need to do (like adjusting the hop all the way down or something). Has anyone already done this already and noticed a difference? - and I'm thinking "colibub" as I'm typing that
Should I do it, or should I put my dosh towards something more useful and save this as a future upgrade?
Cheers,
Mike

i'm sure colibub will give you a more "accurate" answer (he he! see what a did there?) but to be honest they are all fairly accurate out of the box.
i would spend the £23 on an extra hi-cap (volume of fire overcomes accuracy theory introduced by smiffy).
or you could just buy nades!

Had been pondering that idea myself recently for the Aug but unless you are sniping you dont really need the extra accuracy and i think the upgrade increases your fps slightly as well.
Personally i didnt think it was really worth the hassle in the end, plenty more worthy upgrades to spend your money on
waiting for Colins post, he is the man of all knowing

Ah now going by my experiments ive found that for some reason certain guns respond quite well to a tight bore whare others it doesn't seem to make that much difference for example
ICS MP5 didn't notice much if any difference in range or accuracy
P90 now that was completely different much better accuracy at short and long range and very consistent
ICS M4 now has much better accuracy (after running in the hop on the standard gun it was consistent to around 40-50 feet as in a nice straight line but then the BBs seemed to go all over the shop up, down, left and right but with a tighter barrel it has improved)
I could go on and on about this subject as most of my guns have tight bores fitted with varying improvements and in other cases not so much
BUT the question you all want to know is would I recommend you fitting one, well no I wouldn't the reasons for this are
1 most of my guns have more than a tight bore barrel for an upgrade. (an improved seal between the hopup rubber and the nossel on the gearbox in my opinion gives you more consistent air flow shot for shot which means the same amount of air for each BB so whether you have a tb barrel or not if the seals shit then so's the consistency)
2 it wont give you an advantage that you'd notice (a standard AK will always out range the likes of you're SMGs MP5s p90s Umps whether upgraded or not unless we're talking stupidly powerful springs)
3 the wind (to see any increase in performance at all it would need to be perfectly still)
4 and in the end you're skill, if you're not thinking tactically when Airsofting then you're super shoot them in the eye at 150feet gun is of no use to you if the guy sneaks up behind you with a springer pistol and shoots you in the fekin ass
phew that's what I think
